Overview of the project
Summary

A client from Eventocal wants to provide their users with a personalized dashboard that addresses customers’ diverse interests when they find special events and experiences. So I designed an app for Eventocal that helps users search for events. This app allows the users to set their personal information, interests, and location before searching for events. Moreover, they can easily change their interests and information on the profile page to find other events they have not experienced before. Users can share events with their personalized interests.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Developed Interface inventory, UI design (Logo, color pallet, layout), and Style tile

  • Digital Wireframes and High-fidelity Mockups

Duration

4 weeks

Process
Interface inventory
I developed interface inventory to provide accurate and personalized events to the customers in Eventocal. I chose Lato and Noto serif for the app, Eventocal, and made several icons, a logo, and buttons. In addition, I used an image for a profile page and several photos for the events’ information.

Style tile
I made this style tile to show my stakeholders how the app-visual looks generally. I wanted to give visual information about the app to the stakeholders before deep diving into wireframes and high-fidelity mockups. After I showed this style-tile to the stakeholders, I thought I would get feedback for developing the app.

Information Architecture
Sitemap
This sitemap shows the structure of the Eventocal app and its contents. For example, users can check recommended events based on personalized information; location, interests. And they also look for events with a map by checking where the events happen. In addition, users can change their interests and information on the profile page by clicking the icons.

*I upgraded this sitemap after I conducted a usability test.

Wireframes
Wireframe Sketches

I designed these wireframes based on the company's research, information, personas, sitemap, interface inventory, and style tile I made. In addition, I want to personalize each event according to a user's location and interest to create pages for choosing interests and setting locations.

Digital wireframes

These are the wireframes based on the wireframe sketches. I try to make this digital wireframe as specific as possible. These wireframes helped me to develop high-fidelity mockups later. I want to see how the app would work and how users navigate this app to find their personalized events.

Prototyping-1
First Prototype

I developed the prototypes based on the wireframes. First of all, users can log in, sign up, and skip. After that, they can set their location to see more events near their house or wherever they are comfortable, but they can also forget this page. After putting their place, they choose the interests they have. Users can see “my events,” “This week,” and “popular locally” events. On the explore page, users can examine events near their location with a map. On the profile page, users can check or change their interests. They can check which events they already participated in before. There is the link to the prototypes below.
